On the morning of July 8, 2022, jailers with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office accepted a package from Jasmine Sproulls to be given an inmate at the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. When jailers inspected the package, they discovered approximately 9 grams of marijuana hidden in the package.

On the afternoon of July 13, 2022, Michael Thomas, an inmate with Adams County Sheriff’s Office whom was being housed at another facility, was transported back to Adams County. As he was processed back into the Adams County Jail, approximately 70 grams of cocaine was found inside Thomas’s personal belongings. Sheriff Patten gives credit to his jail staff for being more diligent in the day to day operations. There has been changes in procedure and it has made a difference in the amount of contraband that has been discovered in the jail and before it makes it into the jail. The safety of our jailers and inmates is always a concern and we want to do everything we can to keep everyone safe.
